Please don't bug me about songs that aren't on here...I don't trade karaoke backings or anything. You can find karaoke links elsewhere on my page. Please don't send me negative emails about my singing, I'm just an amateur....Thanks!

Karaoke Songs with Me Singing
PLEASE READ THESE COMMENTS FIRST!
I was taking voice lessons around 2003 and one of the things we
worked on was making the sound "rounder" or fuller, especially in the "ee" vowel
(it should be sung more like "ih", or else it comes out very EEEEEEE!). So the
songs where you can hear a lot of EEEEE were recorded pre-2002 and I may want to
redo them at some point, to incorporate the elements that I learned in my
lessons.
I try to put as much emotion/passions/energy into the songs as I can (I didn't
used to). If you feel I need more passion, feel free to let me know...but
otherwise, this is the best I can do unless it is pointed out to me.
Chances are, if you hear bad notes, I do not hear them, so please let me know if
you hear any specifically. I do not work that much on breathing, so sometimes
that means that the intonation will be off. Please remember that these are home
recordings done by an amateur!
I try to imitate the original singer 99% of the time because that is the only
way I know how. I don't really have my own "style".
The ones recorded by Bobby were done in 2001.
NOTE-- I have a pretty good range, but I sing best in higher notes. When I say
it's "too low" in the comments, it means I really have trouble hitting
some of the notes
at all. When I say it's kind of high, it usually means that I can hit the notes,
but to really belt them out the way they were meant to be done (particularly in
pop music), or sing them in tune, I have to be really warmed up and in good
voice.
And when I say "this is an old recording", I usually mean it was done on an
earlier, far worse karaoke machine so that it sounds muted and is not good sound
quality.
Some of the clips are very old and are not from the full versions here...I need to remake them. The comments are about the full versions. Also, you may need to click more than once.
Just in case you are wondering why some of the songs have mistakes or I say they are not that great...I'm not a professional and I don't have access to professional recording equipment. I don't have the time to keep working on songs over and over until I get them right throughout the whole song. I need to work on things like my breathing, which can affect pitch and many other things. If I re-record a song, I have to do the WHOLE song, not just one part like the pros do, so it takes a lot of time and effort to record the entire song perfectly. I am not making excuses, just letting you know, in case you are wondering! :)

Some of the new songs may have song background noise. My stereo is in the shop, and I have to use my karaoke machine to record now to my pc, and it does not have a good output line. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, and then sometime I will get around to re-recording these onto my pc.

This is the best I can come up with, at least for now (and I worked really hard on it) . It's not bad, just...something is lacking and I'm not sure what. Maybe it's just as simple as, it's a little low for me in parts? The rhythm is a little different from what the Dixie Chicks sing in the part "out on Highway 109" but not that noticeable. This is a "girl song" and women in the audience always love singing along. This is a great live karaoke song. |

I would never do this in live karaoke, too difficult to get that one part. I mean, I could do it lightly in head voice and not really belt it like she does, but that kind of ruins the song. |
