It's true what they say about cockroaches...I cooked something in the microwave last week and a tiny little roach crawled out right after...as if to say, "Ha! You think that would kille me, bitch?" Then I squashed him :) Since we had the place sprayed, I've seen way more than usual. Thankfully it's still just one at a time, but even one is too many! Usually in the kitchen. I'm working hard to try to run the dishes more often. Bleccch!
I had a good night's sleep for a change, and then I had an early interview. I spent way too much time arguing with people on Facebook. That's not new. What was annoying was that FB was having technical difficulties for a while.
I somehow scratched my face yesterday, but it's doing better. I don't know if it was a stray fingernail or I just scratched it by accident while sleeping. I've been awfully itchy lately.
We went to Epic for dinner. I wasn't very hungry, but it was good. I had their special, cajun fish. It was awesome. It has a great sauce. I took the other half home.
I had sporadic sleep but didn't end up staying up too late. I had a one-on-one interview around 11. Too many interviews lately! :)
We had dinner at Murphy's. I had their lamb chops. Nothing too interesting going on.... just bad allergies. I should probably do some singing and make some phone calls this week.
I've been looking into places to eat in Vegas while we're there. There's a Southern restaurant at the Venetian that has gluten free fried chicken! That would be awesome. Tuesday night we're definitely going to my favorite restaurant, Mon Ami Gabi, in the Paris. Great French food and lots of gluten free stuff.
The Venetian also has live rock band karaoke Tuesday nights, so hopefully I can check that out, too. Wednesday we're probably going to Gilley's for karaoke with my in-laws that live there.
I had a lot of itching yesterday and last night. I went to bed around 10 and slept about 12 hours; partly that was because I kept waking up from the allergies.
We're both looking forward to our trip! I still need to find someone to water my plants while we're gone.
I went to the gym for the first time in a few months! It sure wasn't easy, but I felt pretty good afterwards.
I went to J.J. Dolan's a little bit early to make sure I could find a seat because the last 2 times we've tried, it's been too packed to find a seat. Fortunately, I found one right away. David ate pizza and I ordered take-out from the place next door.
After watching TV and doing a lot of work, I was very tired and tried going to bed early, but I only slept for an hour and woke up. I listened to music and eventually got back to sleep around 1.
I woke up around 7:20 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I just got up.
I did some singing in the morning, until my voice was kind of wrecked. It doesn't take long sometimes, especially with the bad allergies.
Now I'm just waiting for the dry cleaning guy to come pick up David's work clothes, then I plan to go get lunch and maybe a nap after that.
Instead of a nap, I kept on singing and recording...
I updated my songs page, so check it out.
I went out to Downbeat for lunch. I was going to get take-out, but instead I decided to stay and eat by myself. There was almost no one else there, anyway. David has been too busy lately to eat lunch with me. They played great music, too, so I enjoyed it.
I sort of got lost on updating this blog this week. I've just been really busy as well as sick a lot.
We went to Giovanni Pastrami for dinner down on Waikiki, and then to the Irish bar. They have this singer there that is just terrible. He does the early evening shift, I guess, before the real band comes. He's a terrible guitar player and an even worse singer. I was very glad to leave.
I have a Kindle Fire that I got last year, but sometimes it doesn't work very well, which is very frustrating. I've been using it more lately, but sometimes it just doesn't work when I try to use the browser or go to Facebook. For no reason, it just doesn't work.
They had a big noisy carnival going on across the street from our place, at the park. It was very annoying because of the loud band, plus they kept calling raffle numbers.
We went to a place called Square Barrells for breakfast. They haven't been open very long. We'd tried them out for dinner, and they were okay. I read that they opened for breakfast. It was pretty good. We had the place to ourselves!
Later, we went out to a sports bar to watch the horse race. It was very exciting! For dinner, we went to Gordon Biersch. I've found a new dish I like there, the pan-cooked Citrus Chicken. It's pretty good.
We went to Hooters for lunch, and I had the garden chicken salad. They always drench it in dressing, though, even though I ask them not to put too much on it.
The weather has been really nice so far. I keep waiting for it to get really hot again. I'm sure it will be soon!
Everything has been pretty great, aside from the allergies. I've had lots of itching, watery eyes and more. UGH.
I've been enjoying the food I ordered from https://www.holdthecarbs.com/, especially the pancake mix.
I keep putting off cleaning the house, but I really need to get to it. Whenever I feel guilty about it, I have this same recurring dream that David has invited a ton of people over to our place for a party, even though the place is filthy and I have no food or other preparations!
We're leaving on Friday for our trip out to San Diego. I can't wait!
I'm still getting up pretty early, but I still really hate these early-morning interviews I've been doing. The allergies keep me awake or wake me up in the middle of the night, or I take naps because of them.
This should be a very busy week. I hope you have a great one!
Don't forget to also check out my TV Blog! Both are updated about once a week.
